The Clan Pringle Association
The Clan Pringle Association was founded on Wednesday 3rd October 2012, when leading members of the Pringle family met together and held the inaugural meeting of the Association in the Pewterers’ Hall in London.

On Monday 18th March 2013 the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) became satisfied that the Clan Pringle Association had met the charity test, and entered it in the Scottish Charity Register. This means that the CPA now has charitable status under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.

Your charitable objectives are: To preserve the Pringle family's traditions, sites, artifacts and records and to study its history, culture and relationships with other Scottish families and similar organisations by scientific, genealogical, archaeological and other research and make the results publically available to interested parties. The work to advance the knowledge of Scotland's culture and heritage will be disseminated as widely as possible.
Clan Gathering and AGM 2014:
There was a Clan Gathering of Members of the Clan Pringle Association on Friday 27th June 2014, including an AGM and BBQ at Torwoodlee in Scotland.

Mission Statement of the Clan Pringle Association
- To raise the public profile of the clan and highlight the honour of the Pringle name.
- To promote Pringle history and to correct the errors of previous historians.
- To protect and preserve the historical sites that have been the home to Pringle’s throughout history.
- To establish who is the current clan chief through genealogical research and our DNA project.
- To include the worldwide Pringle diaspora in the Clan Pringle Association.
- To provide a forum through which Pringle’s can contact and communicate with each other.
New Mission Statement:
- “To connect our family worldwide. to share, research and preserve it history.”
Charity status: The Clan Pringle Association achieved Charity Status in Scotland and our North American Branch has been registered as a 501c3 non-profit.
The Pringle DNA Surname Project: To date, 61 men have joined our Y-DNA Surname Project. Of these, 39 men are shown to be related by varying degrees of closeness. Of these related men 22 do not have the surname Pringle or variants (Prindle, Pring, Pringe) or did not provide their names. Of the 22 unrelated men, 15 have the Pringle or variant names, probably because of a past adoption or illegitimacy, or an ancestor taking his wife’s Pringle surname for some reason. The remaining seven unrelated men had different surnames or did not provide their names.
Clan Gatherings: There have been several Pringle Clan Gatherings, both in the UK and in North America.
Torwoodlee Tower: Our Chairman obtained grants to consolidate Torwoodlee Tower from the Fallago Environment Fund and Historic Scotland. The work started in the spring of 2015 and lasted two years.
Book made available free online: We have made this book available free online as a service to Pringles around the world - THE RECORDS OF THE PRINGLES OR HOPPRINGILLS OF THE SCOTTISH BORDER, BY ALEX. PRINGLE, M.A., B.Sc. Published: Edinburgh, Oliver and Boyd, 1933.
New Book: We have assisted the author in producing this book - Saving the Army: The Life of Sir John Pringle by Dr Morrice McCrae. Published: 4 Sep 2014. Available to purchase on Amazon.co.uk. The biography's launch took place in the New Library, Royal College of Physicians, 9 Queen Street, Edinburgh on Monday 3rd November 2014.
Social Media Efforts: We have been posting regular content on the Pringle social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Advertising: Advertisements for the CPA have been placed in the clans area of the Scottish Banner and Scottish Life magazines.
American Scottish Festivals: The Association participated in the Alma Scottish Festival in Michigan on May 23-24 2015, and in the St Andrews Society of Detroit’s 166th Annual Highland Games on July 31-August 1 2015 in Livonia, Michigan.
